Assembly of God Renewal in Christ Church was founded in the historical city of New Bedford, Massachusetts in 2009 by Pastors Julio & Elisabete DeSouza.
As a multinational community the church is focused in restoring lives and families ever since our Founder Pastor and his family has this calling to restore the paths of lives and broken families through prayer and the teaching of the word of God.
The church seeks to be Christ-centered and faithful to scripture, and for the past years has had a healthy tradition of still keeping the essence of Christ’s teaching in the congregation ideal. The church views the Bible as the word of God, inspired, and authoritative in our lives. As a multinational church our worship is blended with songs in English, Portuguese and Spanish. We sing a mix of hymns spanning several centuries as well as contemporary praise and worship music including many songs written by our own worship leaders.
We believe there is one eternal and true God, and its trinity made up of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, who made heaven and earth and all that is. We believe that Jesus Christ is God incarnate, that he lived, died, rose from the grave, and that he will return again triumphant to establish God’s kingdom in its fullness. We believe that the Bible is the inspired and true word of God, and that Christians should seek to handle it accurately as the word of truth, and should submit to its teaching and authority. Our purpose is to provide educational experiences to strengthen people’s faith in Jesus Christ.
The Church has a function to do what the word of God says : “For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost”. (Luke 19:10). The bible also says: For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
(John 3:16).
Based on the will of God we do activities that aims to put this into practice, trying to reach lives that are marginalized, without expectations, hopeless and helpless, emotionally, spiritually, without direction. We have for function to take them to the meeting of our Lord Jesus Christ and through his teachings.
